Can someone recommend a 4 stars riviera maya hotel?
Would like to stay at Playa del Carmen area hotel...would like to visit the Chichen Itza, tulum Maya ruin, and maybe Cozumel.

For anyone who has been to the riviera maya (mexico) within the past couple of weeks or is currently there...?
My fiance and I are planning on going to the riveria maya mexico in a 3 weeks and we would like to know from people who have just come back from there or people who are currently there as to what the weather is like. we have heard that july is the rainy season, and we would like to know how bad it is so we can pack accordingly. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Should I rent a car in Cancun/riviera maya?
I'm traveling to Cancun next week and am staying at an AI a few miles down the road. I would like to do some sight seeing, but don't want to pay the outrageous prices for guided tours that I hear aren't that great , nor do I want to have to make several stops to pick up various passengers.My main concern is safety of course. I'm from the States, do not speak much Spanish, and am not familiar with the driving laws in Mexico. I've heard of Mexican police unfairly ticketing foreigners and tourists.Advice? Thoughts? Anyone rented and drove around in the Yucatan before? Thanks.

Traveling to riviera maya in mexico, family bringing 2 teenage daughters,how safe are excursions?
with all of the media and the new travel advisories from the govt im a little nervous about our upcoming trip to mexico. we are staying at the barcelo maya caribe resort just about 1 hour from the airport in cancun. we have six people in our family, 2 17 yr old daughters and a 15 and 11 yr old sons. we are taking private round trip transfers from the airport. i feel we will be safe on the resort as it is all inclusive. we did want to see chichen itza and tulum. if we book an excursion, thats where i get nervous. the time on the roads. have any families traveled there and how safe did they feel?

Can anyone recommend a good 5* resort on the riviera maya, mexico?
We stayed at the Gran Bahia Principe a few years ago on our honeymoon. We loved it and want to go back. We may go back to same resort but want to check out some others too. We want 5 , nice food, 24 hr all inclusive, by a beach and nice pools. Also needs to be kid friendly.Any suggestions?

My mom finally said we could go to mexico next summer and I said we should go to Riviera Maya because I've never been to the Atlantic before. I feel like on the travel sights you don't see all the resorts. Do you know any good resorts? Preferebly they would be all inclusive and have... good beach with lots of palm trees and good pool I can't remember what saltwater is like I dont know if i'll like it.. a good town nearby so my mom can shop rooms for 5 people can be a little over $200 a night but not too over because we'll be staying nearly 10 days good for familys with older kids fun things at the hotel because my parents are very lazy so they won't want to leave too muchWe went to Puerta Vallarta in the 90s but that was before my sister was born and things were alot cheaper than. Would you recomend going back to there or riviera maya?
